Is Liturgy Planner web-based?
No, Liturgy Planner is installed from a CD. Update CDs are automatically sent to subscribers. After installing or updating, you do not need the CD in the drive to run the program. Installing the resources directly on your hard drive allows you faster access; you will not be dependent on someone else’s server or be limited by the speed of your modem connection. Occasionally small updates are posted on the web; these updates can be downloaded using the TrueUpdate feature in Liturgy Planner. (Check for updates in Liturgy Planner by clicking on Help/TrueUpdate.)

Why do I need to pay both a purchase price and a subscription fee?
The resources included in Liturgy Planner are licensed to the user, not sold. The value of the resources included in Liturgy Planner in print form would total over $700—and that doesn’t take into consideration the value of features such as Liturgy Planner’s ability to automatically insert appropriate Lectionary readings, Sacramentary prayers, and music resources into your liturgy plan and worship aid. In addition to keeping the initial purchase price reasonable, the ongoing subscription fee entitles you to upgrades and technical support.

The subscription fee also gives you the license to reprint the graphics and music included in Liturgy Planner without further license, as long as these resources are not used for commercial purposes or distributed electronically to non-LabOra subscribers.

Does Liturgy Planner provide homilies for specific liturgies?
“Homily Help” from the Liturgical Press publication Living Liturgy™ is provided for Sundays and feast days of the liturgical year. How much control do I have over worship aid document?
You can customize your own worship aid templates, allowing you to choose the content that will be exported into the worship aid (for example, reading citations but not reading text). You also choose which word processing program will be the destination for the information—WordPerfect, Word, Publisher 2002.

After the text is exported into the word processing document you can adapt, change, delete, edit, or add text, music, or graphics as you see fit. You are only limited by the provisions given in the reprint licenses you hold and the features of your word processor.

Is Liturgy Planner’s use limited to liturgy planning?
Not at all. Bible Explorer from the makers of WORDsearch™ provides searchable text of the entire New American Bible. You can also access the NAB commentary and view, copy, and paste maps relevant to particular Bible citations. Use the clip art graphics in your school newsletters or programs. All Liturgy Planner resources are searchable, a feature that is extremely useful for catechists, those in RCIA ministry, and people leading Bible studies. Liturgy Planner will be an invaluable resource to your entire parish staff.
